Are all RX eligible for reimbursement thought the medical reimbursement plan? I understand weight loss programs are not, but what about weight loss Rx, Meridia? Is there a list of specific Rx that are eligible? Thank you
SLuskin
No, all prescriptions are not permitted. Examples are "cosmetic" prescriptions like Renova and Retin-A, and one new one, I think Kinerase. Also, Meridia is generally not permitted.

In regards to "Not all prescriptions are permitted towards the flex 125k health care spending accounts". Do you have a list of those prescriptions that are not eligible for reimbursement? Could you give me some direction as to where I might find this information? Also, not knowing that not all prescriptions are reimburseable, what does the employer do for those prescriptions previously reimbursed? I have a few that I've reimbursed so far this year. Please advise. Thank You..

I think that SLUSKIN is confusing what prescriptions are reimbursable under insurance policies and what is an acceptable medical care expense. They are completely unrelated concepts; simply because an insurance company will not reimburse a prescription does not mean that the expense cannot be reimbursed under the medical care reimbursement plan.
