Hi,

I have a plan that all assets were distributed on April 29, 2009. When completing the form 5500 would I use the April 2009 date as the plan year end and mark final & short plan year or use the regular plan year end and mark as final.....

However, since the filing deadline is 7 months after the assets are zero I am thinking the April date for year end is the correct way but would like to her other thoughts...

Thanks,

Jason

Different question regarding a similar situation --

Plan assets were distributed and plan was terminated effective 10/01/2009. Form 5500 is due by the last day of the 7th month after the short plan year ends. Would this mean a due date of 04/30/10 or 5/31/10?

If last distribution was on 10/1, then 5500 is due 5/31
LRDG
5500 filing deadline is 'no later than the last day of the 7th calendar month after the end of the plan' or GIA year the end of the plan year'.
