I live in AZ and I was currently in a flex plan with my employer and was laid off in July. The employer (corp in MN) did not have more than 20 employees last year so I am not eligble for COBRA for the remaining balance that is left in the flex account. How can I recop the balance that is left in my account?
I haven't seen your plan documents or SPD, but you should have a period of time during which you can still submit claims for expenses you incurred prior to your termination date. Maybe you purchased some over the counter drugs and medicines, and you can get receipts from many of the retailers like CVS if you used your CVS care card. I think Target can also bring up the purchases if you used a credit or debit card.
Other than that, the use it or lose it will apply, and there is no way that you can get the money back.
