WE are looking at adding either a rider on our dental plans to cover TMJ services in our dental plans and/or adding a dollar amt. limit in our medical plans. I would like to know what other employers' dental and/or medical plans provide in regard to TMJ benefits.
Thanks!

TMJ is listed in our medical plan and not in the dental plan at this time but I thought maybe this wording would still help.
"For treatment of temporomandibular joint syndrome with intra-oral prosthetic devices or any other method to alter vertical dimensions and/or restore or maintain the occlusion and treatment of TMJ dysfunction not caused by documented organic joint disease or physical trauma, not to exceed $1,000 per person per lifetime both in and out of network combined."

Our dental plan summary says:
Temporomandibular Joint treatment (TMJ) limited to treatment for pain, muscular or skeletal disorders to $1,000 maximum per Calendar Year. Any benefits applied to this maximum will also be applied to the annual maximum.
