what fees are permissibly charged to a (self-insured) health plan and where is it codified (i must not be phrasing it correctly because i can't find it in the DOL regs). help!

Can you be a little more specific with your term "fees?" Do you mean consulting fees? Do you mean fees for other types of services? I am guessing you mean consulting, but cannot be sure.

i am talking about fees for paying a TPA to administer a voluntary health assessment plan for participants. i am assuming that the plan could pay for these fees out of its assets (again, plan is self-insured).

Am confused. If plan is self insured then all claims and fees to run the plan are paid from sponsors general assets.

sometimes they charge it as "professional fees".
