Full Version: Can a person file electronically if contributes to a ROTH IRA?

I've heard that one can't but would like this confirmed. The IRS Publication that addresses this issue is not available on their website; the Chicago phone number I was referred to that addresses it does not work correctly - it automatically hangs up (perhaps it is working correctly??). Thanks for anticipated assistance.

I did last year using TurboTax. The Roth contribution doesn't actually affect current income tax, but I think the program did file an 8606 for good measure. I could see where a recharacterization might not be supported. You'd want to check with the company you plan to file with.
