Full Version: Cookies Not updating
BenefitsLink Message Boards > Boards Other Than Employee Benefits > How to Use the Message Boards (the "Forums")

Ever since the board upgrade, my cookies aren't updating when I leave the board to show that I was here and read everything. Is anyone else having this problem? The only way I can get it to update is if I click the Mark all Posts as Read button, which I never had to do before.

I'm having mixed results as well. Somtimes a board will be marked with unread messages, but when I look inside, all messages have been viewed. Other times it works fine.

Mine is working fine, but the difference might be caused by the fact that I had to delete my cookies before I was able to log in on the new bulletin boards.
Fredman
Thanks for the suggestion MWeddell. That seems to have helped.

I hate to ask such basic questions, but:

Where is the button that says "Mark all Posts as Read?

How do you delete the cookie for BenefitsLink? I know how to delete all of my cookies, but is there a feature on Benefits Link that allows you to do so? Is it as simple as unchecking the box that says recognize me when I log in again (or similar language)?

Kirk, the buttons are wayyyy at the bottom of the main forum listings, just above the Board Statistics Box. Over on the right, you will see Mark all Posts Read and also Delete Cookies Set by this Board.

This is a generic version of an email that Dave Baker sent me when I couldn't log in. I don't know whether it works for everyone or not.

1. Please go to this page: http://benefitslink.com/boards/index.php

2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Delete cookies set by
this board", which appears just before the "Board Statistics" box.

3. Then scroll back up to the top of the page and click on "Log In"
(next to "Welcome Guest").

4. Enter your user name

5. Enter your password

6. Click "Log me in"
