What advice can you provide for organizations considering changing their health and welfare plans from a Church Plan to ERISA?

It depends on the reasons for wanting to make such a change.
Why and What are the percieved benefits to be gained?

ERISA would provide stronger rules and regulations concerning plan administration. Under a Church Plan it does not appear that administration is consistent. ERISA regs appear to have things pretty well spelled out.
