Full Version: With Firefox, You Can Scroll Using Your Space Bar
To scroll down a web page, you can just hit your space bar if you're using the Firefox browser (instead of having to use your mouse).
As a diehard Firefox user, I really appreciate those tips.

Not too painful (if I recall, it asks during setup whether you want to import settings from IE).
One toolbar I'd recommend, especially if you're a Yahoo user, is the Yahoo toolbar. It gives you links to Yahoo areas obviously, but the real feature I think is great is the ability for the toolbar to manage your bookmarks/favorites on Yahoo's server, rather than your computers. This has obvious advantages, especially if you have a significant number of bookmarks saved and you use multiple computers (home/office etc.). This is available for IE and for Firefox.

Multiple tabbing is something I don't ever want to be without.
Really like the bookmarks toolbar. You can group multiple bookmarks (like NYTimes, CNN, LATimes, Chicago Tribune) together, then click "Open In Tabs" and go away for a few minutes and all your websites have been accessed and loaded.
Works better with 30 than 5. <g> One click....all loaded. Amazing. Does IE have something like that.
If you have a mouse that tends to be right-clicked and moved "all by itself", you might want to disable mouse-gestures. That is, if you rest your hand on your mouse and find yourself moving it around and right-clicking unintentionally, mouse-gestures may not be the next best thing since sliced bread.
If you ever want to scroll-size not only text, but graphics, you need Opera. Neither Firefox nor IE expand graphics. Dithering can be a problem, but it is better than nothing.

It is not painful at all and tabbed browing is now a must have for me. I'll never be without it.
Firefox is highly recommended.

IE also scrolls with the space bar. Don't know about anybody else, but I have too much stuff on my computer already to load another browser.
The same goes for the Safari browser. (The space bar thing).
I'm a Mac user at home, so I jumped at the chance to use Safari on the PC. Haven't looked back since.
(However, some sites have a little trouble loading in Safari, so I keep IE on standby for those few times I need it)

I love Firefox but was surprised to find it does not work well with the ASPPA website.
You can only go down a few levels. When I was trying to find a book I kept getting stuck. When I called for help, the lady had me try many things and then finally asked if I was using Firefox. When I said yes, she suggested I try IE becasue firefox doesn't work well.
I switched to IE, went back and had no problems.

Sadly, I've heard of a number of other sites that have the same problem with Firefox.

I found this page by searching for a way to disable the space-bar feature in Firefox. If anyone knows the answer, please advise. Thanks!
