I hope I am wrong but I understand that Mark Beilke of Milliman recently passed away. I knew Mark through his work with employer trade groups. He was highly intelligent and very generous with his time. I believe he posted on these boards under the screen name "MGB". I always learned something everytime he posted. He will be missed by the pension community and by these message boards.

This is tragic news. I saw Mark just four weeks ago at the EA meeting. His in-depth knowledge of many topics has always been valuable to many others, and a great sense of humor.

Very sad news if true. I always looked forward to his comments and insights.

I did not know him, but feel compelled to say something here. I always read his posts with great interest because of his in-depth knowledge and the historical perspective he often shared. Sad to hear of his passing.

I feel the same way as David.

he'll be missed !! some time back I had trouble with some of the "restricted employee" concepts ; his reply brought the light .

I discussed many issues with Mark both on this board and through email. I had the pleasure of meeting him at the 2003 EA meeting. He was a true asset to this board and the pension community. He was always very giving of his time and knowledge. He will be missed.

I am shocked to hear this bad news. I did have the pleasure of knowing Mark. He was always willing to give his time and counsel, and was a leader in the pension actuarial community.
