I have been asked to assist a start-up company establish its full benefits program.
My experience has been with large corporations and this is fairly new to me. Can someone suggest a good starting place -- are there independent agents who handle this sort of program. Appreciate any help you may provide. Thank you.

If you want an analysis of what kind of pension plan would best suit the company's goals, send me by e-mail the company census and I will e-mail you back the results at no charge. You can e-mail me at rtu@pdq.net.

A fine tool would be the book Tools and Techniques of Employee Benefit Planning by Leimberg et al.
In addition to checklists it also has sections on each of the many possible employer sponsored plans. Each is broken out by Advantages/Disadvantages, ERISA implication, reporting, where to get information etc. It has been part of my professional library for years.
National Underwriter in Cincinnati has an 800 number.
