I want to start a web page and perhaps a blog for some employee benefits related topics. Assuming that I am REALLY dumb about computers and everything technical (what DOES html mean, anyway?) where should I go to establish a web page? Yahoo? Some other place? I will need spoon feeding on this. (To give you an example of how hopeless I am at this - I am now trying to figure out how to actually post this query and am having trouble finding which button to click on.) Thanks.

I think you can easily create a free blog using
http://www.blogger.com They have templates so you wouldn't really need to know anything.
PS html means hyper text mark-up language

Another very popular blog service is Movable Type (
www.movabletype.org). You don't have to know much to get up and running with their service. Benefitsblog uses this service. Go to
www.benefitsblog.com to see it in action.

Movable Type can be complicated to set up. You have to have your own webspace and domain name, plus do all of the adminstration, customizing etc yourself. Also, I don't think it's free anymore, or only in a limited edition?
There is also Word Press, which I use for all of my own blogs and sites. But again, like MT, you have to have the space to host it and while the learning curve isn't steep, you do have to know some stuff.
