I have a multiple employer 401(k) plan for which I need to test approximately 82 participating employers individually for top heavy. I use Relius Admin software. Does anyone have any ideas on an efficient way to accomplish this? I'm about to tear my hair out because I really don't want to have to do this by hand - but it's looking like I will have to. I appreciate any input.

is the employer aggregation group field on the ER screen designed for this? if you code all the er's will you be able to agg in the top heavy screen?
i am not sure--never had a situation like that

Thanks quinn - I guess my problem is that I DON'T want aggregation, I need to test them all individually. This is a PEO plan that was "single employer" but went to multiple employer in 2003 under the transition rules and per Rev. Proc. 2002-21. I can perform all of the ADP/ACP tests individually, but couldn't find a way to test individually for top heavy. Sigh........................

I had posted a Crystal Report version for Top-Heavy at one time. Of course, I don't know if the you can post reports anymore. sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. ANyway, if you have that report I would think you could modify that slightly (e.g. by divisions or something) to accomplish what you want. maybe it doesn't pull in-service distribution, but same thing, you could use user fields if you have those.
good grief, I heard your sigh all the way down here in Florida!
