I have seen somewhere that the IRS may adjust the max. employee SIMPLE IRA contribution amount upward from the current $6000 each year. Has that ceiling been changed for 2000? Also, I've heard that the max. contribution limit combined total for both a SIMPLE and 403(b)/401(k) has been increased from $10,000 to $10,500 for this year. Can anyone confirm that?

The deferral limit for SIMPLE plans is still $6000. The deferral limit for 401(k) / 403(B) was increased to $10,500 for calendar year 2000.
