The plan sponsor met the minimum funding requirement prior to 9/15, but then put in an additional 50k in the plan today towards 2010. I know this 50k can't be put on the 2010 SB, but can it be included on the SF. I think it can. Also, does the 50k (reduced with interest) increase the prefunding balance as of 1/1/2011? again, I think it does and i would show it on the 2011 SB Part II 7(b) with additional explanation attachment. Anything wrong here?

Any contribution after 09/15/2011 cannot be considered a 2010 PY contribution.
Only possible exception is IRS-granted disaster relief.

What about 404(a)(6)?

There is a debate on whether the 430 / 404 code sections are tied together.

One school of thought is that it is deductible but creates different asset levels for 430 and 404 in the subsequent year.

I do not believe that any school believes that it can increase the prefunding balance if it was not on the prior year SB.

This is what we've always done. Also, I think it is only possible for Individuals and Sole Propreitors. The tax filing deadline, and therefore, the deductibility only goes to this date.
