Hello,

I'm looking for somewhat current national statistics on the use of daily valuation vs. traditional recordkeeping. Can anyone offer a good source? So far, I've looked at PSCA, EBRI, etc. Can't quite seem to find the needle in the haystack.

Thanks for any information you may provide!

I would expect that there are few balance forward plans left around. Call a TPA firm and ask the question "what percentage of the plans you do admin for are blance forward?". The follow on question is how many plans are trustee directed.
Eric.
Our firm recordkeeps/handles over 100 NQDCP's. About 70% are daily valuation and Statements are available online to all participants as well as the Sponsors. The daily and online services are sponsor elected.

The firm where I used to work had about exclusively balance forward and DB plans. It was a small firm with about 800 DC plans, I think about 60% of them were DC plans.

The DOL Web site has this from the 2005 pension plan bulletin. I could find nothing more current. Best wishes.

I can't give you national but our firm's DC plans are split 75% balance forward, 25% daily.
