Wondering if anyone uses the Relius function of having the plan sponsor process distributions themselves from the plan sponsor web (instead of sending participant's form to TPA). How does this work and have there been any issues?

We are in the process of testing and implementing this feature. We are planning on rolling this out as "Online Distribution Request and Approval". IN a nutshell, it works like this:

1. Plan Sponsor decides to offer online termination distribution requests
2. Plan is configured in Relius Administration
3. Participant requests termination distribution via the Participant Web
4. Participant prints termination distribution request form and submits completed forms to Plan Sponsor
5. Create voice transactions runs & Plan Sponsor is notified that they have pending requests
6. Plan Sponsor approves termination distribution request via Plan Sponsor Web
8. Create voice transactions runs
9. Termination distribution transaction is created and posted via STP

We do have one plan sponsor that i setup to use, but unfortuantely, no requests have come through yet.

Can the sponsor process the distribution on the sponsor web if we dont have STP? I dont think we do....

I have a new client that does not want to pay distribution fees. We are trying to see if he could do all the distributions himself via the plan sponsor web. I played around on Relius but I cant figure out how it works. Does the sponsor actually create trades that will show up on our end??

thanks very much.

Yes, you can do it without STP. Just a little more intervention on your part.
