I am looking for resource on how different entities effect compensation for qualified plans/benefit purposes. The ERISA Book has some information- but I need a more comprehensive guide or resource.
Your suggestions are appreciated.

Sal Tripodi, the author of the ERISA Outline Book, also publishes other materials. One of them is ERISA Views. If you subscribe to them, one of the recent issues covered compensation in some detail.

Thank you for the suggestion. I contacted cyberisa. The informed me of the following:

THe issue addresses only compensation to employees, and how various definitions of compensation are used for various plan purposes. You can read more about the issue at our home page (www.cyberisa.com). It does NOT address earned income (i.e., compensation for partners, including members of LLCs that are taxed as partnerships, and unincorporated sole proprietors).

Therefore, this will not help me. Any other suggestions?

Well, you might consider going to the ASPA Summer Conference. Workshop 19 is entitled: "LLCs, LLP, Sub S Corps - How Different Business Entities Effect Compensation for Qualified Plans." That session is on Monday, July 28th.

www.aspa.org has the brochure, I think.
